RED

Happy Friday Loves,

I think I've posted this dress more than a gazillion times BUT I don't care. I love it. Zara did a great job on this one. Christmas season always calls for the perfect little red dress.

I've been a little obsessed with over the knee socks as well. It makes any outfit a bit sexy.
Dress: Zara. Boots: Charlotte Russe. Socks and hat: F21. Accessories: Aldo
Glad you ladies enjoyed the last post.
I will have to invest more time in posting meaningful things that will help us all grow and become strong women.

I pray you all have a wonderful weekend!

Love,

Ivonne Stacy.

The Third Decade + Oxblood Tights

I recently read this article on refinery29.com and I really enjoyed it….Not only because I am in my mid 20’s and feel it relates to me- but because it took some weight off my shoulders, made me feel more at peace with where I am in life and know that it’s a journey.

Here are some of my fave points that I pulled  from the article. The points of view are from eight incredibly diverse women about what they want, who they currently are, or what they wished they knew in their third decade. (In BOLD are my personal thoughts.)
Enjoy!

#1 "One thing I knew in my early 20s (but chose to ignore) was that I should have started saving money. Instead of buying that extra pair of shoes or spending $50 at a bar, I wish I would have been more disciplined about saving. Having a safety net gives you more freedom to pursue new things, instead of being tied to a job you hate."

I should def think about this more when I swipe my debit card for shoes next time.  Also reminds me of Proverbs 22:7: "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave of the lender" (NRSV). This could not be more true.
#2 "You can't avoid the bad shit. It will always find its way to you somehow."

Yep- I think I've already figured this out.
#3 "You haven't got life figured out yet. Although it may feel like it, because life is hitting you like a thousand epiphanies slapping you in the face. And, you may never. But, if you do somehow find enlightenment, I imagine it will only be in the context of you. So, humble yourself and keep listening and learning. The wisest know they know nothing at all."

Love this- and makes me feel much better. Sometimes, I feel like I am not doing enough, or that I’m not doing what I should be doing…. Cheers to the unknown! Right?!
#4 "Not everyone you're friends with are friends worth holding on to. Honor the friends that persist when you're at your lowest. They are the absolute real deal. The rest aren't bad people, but they aren't helping you grow either. Don't be afraid to let them go, and wish them a wonderful life as they exit yours."

Learned this pretty early, but thankful I did. "As we grow up we realize it becomes less important to have more friends and more important to have real ones."
#5 "I can guarantee there will be haters, but it's only logic that there'll be lovers, too."

Hey Hater! Lol! Seriously, who cares? The older I get the less I care about what others think.

#6 "Finding the right partner for you is a powerful thing. As corny as it sounds, meeting my husband and working to build a lasting relationship with him influenced my general happiness as much as accomplishing any of the measurable goals that I had set going into my 20s."

couldn't agree any more with this statement. Though, I am a little different because my husband and I found each other in high school, not in our 20’s, I can’t imagine life without him. He is my best friend. He’s made me the woman I am today and helped get me through all the tough times and the good ones too.
#7 "Live in the present. Dwelling on the past or future is extremely counterproductive. It's all about the now, being true to yourself and having faith."

Amen! My faith is my rock.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Outfit: Top and booties from F21. Skirt from Ross. Tights from Target.

Floral Print

Hello Lovelies,

This look was inspired by the Fall/Winter 2013 runway looks from Givenchy, which you will see below.
And who can forget the infamous Kim K. in her flower power look, lol!
Check it out:
F21 Flower Top. Love Culture skirt. Charlotte Russe heels. Aldo Accessories. Vintage Casio watch.

I love the faux leather trim on the skirt. It adds a little more character to an otherwise classic skater skirt.
I wore this outfit before Icemageddon hit Dallas. This Texas weather is just incredible. Literally, one day it's 80 degrees and the next its 28 degrees.
Straight from the Runway: Givenchy Floral Print

Have a great day!

Love,

Ivonne Stacy.
